Question by Ryan N: iPhone 3G error (21) & error (2001)?
i have a white 16GB iPhone 3G. So i put it in my dock, iTunes came up on my MacBook like it normally does, then the iPhone restarted a white screen came up for about 25 seconds then an Apple came up, then the connect to iTunes symbol came up on the Phone. I was puzzled as to why this had happened since i’m extremely careful & certainly would not ever jailbreak it, because its against Apple‘s EULA. So i click restore expecting everything to work, then I get something like “iTunes cannot connect to the iPhone “iPhone” an unknown error accrued error 21. Then i put it in DUF mode, the screen went white again, I was looking pleased as it looked like the firmware was installing then that failed & now its displaying error code 2001, what shall I do.
i only got the Phone on 27th December 2008

I’m not sure how far the closest Apple store is from you but if I were you I would definitely try to book an appointment with them for the Genius bar to see if they can help you out with it. Since you’ve never jailbroken it, just explain to them what happens and they’ll check it out. Chances are you probably still have that one year limited warranty so if they find that it is a flaw with the iPhone itself, you may just get a replacement iPhone for free. Good luck!
